Day 1: Sutton-in-Craven to The Morrit Hotel (122.78 miles, 13,144 ft elevation gain)
The Yorkshire Beast cycling challenge kicks off with a grueling first day, as participants embark on a 122.78-mile journey from Sutton-in-Craven to The Morrit Hotel. This leg of the race will test the cyclists' endurance and climbing abilities, as they ascend a staggering 13,144 feet throughout the day.
The route will take riders through the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, offering breathtaking views of the region's rolling hills and picturesque villages. Cyclists will need to pace themselves carefully, as the constant climbing and descending can be physically and mentally demanding.
As they reach The Morrit Hotel, the cyclists will have the opportunity to rest, refuel, and prepare for the challenges that lie ahead on Day 2.

Day 2: The Morrit Hotel to Hornsea (134.91 miles, 6,344 ft elevation gain)
The second day of the Yorkshire Beast promises to be equally grueling, with cyclists covering a distance of 134.91 miles and climbing an elevation of 6,344 feet. This leg of the journey will take riders through the scenic Yorkshire Wolds, offering a change of scenery from the previous day's Dales.
While the elevation gain may be slightly less than the first day, the sheer distance and the potential for changing weather conditions will continue to test the cyclists' physical and mental fortitude. Maintaining a steady pace and managing their energy levels will be crucial for the participants as they push towards the halfway point of the challenge.
Upon reaching Hornsea, the cyclists will have the opportunity to rest, refuel, and prepare for the final two days of the Yorkshire Beast.

Day 3: Hornsea to Hex Wildlife Hotel (102.55 miles, 1,252 ft elevation gain)
The third day of the Yorkshire Beast offers a relative respite from the previous two days, with a shorter distance of 102.55 miles and a more manageable elevation gain of 1,252 feet. This leg of the journey will take riders along the Yorkshire coast, providing stunning views of the North Sea and the region's picturesque seaside towns.
While the elevation gain may be less demanding, the cyclists will still need to maintain their focus and discipline to ensure they reach the Hex Wildlife Hotel in good condition. This day's route will allow the participants to recover some of their energy and prepare for the final push on Day 4.

Day 4: Hex Wildlife Hotel to Sutton-in-Craven (93.81 miles, 8,105 ft elevation gain)
Covering a distance of 93.81 miles and ascending 8,105 feet, this ultimate leg of the journey will challenge the cyclist’s endurance and climbing skills once more as they navigate the familiar terrain of the Yorkshire Dales.
As the cyclists approach the finish line in Sutton-in-Craven, they will be greeted with a sense of accomplishment and pride, having conquered the grueling 450-mile challenge and ascended the equivalent of Mount Everest. The camaraderie and support of the Ultra6 team and the wider cycling community will be a driving force, pushing the participants to the finish line.
