The 7 Most Dreamy Hotel Pools in Greece

Greece is a country known for its incredible history, beautiful scenery, top-class food and drink, and perhaps most famously, its exceptional weather. With the average temperature in July throughout Greece sitting between a scorching 30–35℃, it’s no wonder that so many hotels have outdoor swimming pools where guests can cool off under the summer sunshine.

So, whether you like an infinity pool overlooking the sea or a hidden pool surrounded by a vineyard, you're in good hands. These are the 7 most dreamy hotel pools in Greece.

7 Greek Hotel Pools That Feel Like a Dream

1. Athina Luxury Suites – Santorini

Santorini and dreamy swimming pools go hand-in-hand, so this article could easily have covered the best pools in Santorini alone, but the swimming pool at Athina Luxury Suites, found in Fira, on the Greek island of Santorini, is arguably the island’s best.

The swimming pool sits at the back of the hotel, which is perched high up and actually built into the rocky hillside of Fira, and offers commanding views over the inviting waters of the Aegean Sea.

To say that the views are immense is an understatement – the sea looks within touching distance, but it also appears that you can see for miles, where the blue waters of the Aegean seem to stretch onwards forever.

If you’re after a tranquil getaway with all of the advantages of a newly refurbished, modern, luxury hotel and one of the best swimming pools in Greece, then this is the place for you.

2. Atrium Platinum Luxury Resort & Hotel – Rhodes

Rhodes is the fourth-largest of the Greek islands and sits closer to Turkey than it does to mainland Greece.

This means that it also has the advantage of sitting in the middle of the Aegean Sea, as well as taking advantage of some of the warmest waters and weather in Europe.

As such, the hotel’s pool game is well and truly at the top of its league. Because it is a luxury resort, guests can visit the indoor spa free of charge, with a range of different pools, including a hydrotherapy pool, which is perfect for a day of relaxation, just what you need on holiday.

However, it’s the outdoor pool here that really catches our eye – a huge complex that you can swim around, with access to a swim-up bar (truly one of humanity’s greatest inventions), as well as being placed in the prime spot to overlook the Aegean Sea and the harbour where one of the 7 Wonders of the Ancient World would have stood: the Colossus of Rhodes.

If you’re into history and relaxation at the same time, you simply have to pay a visit here.

3. Mykonos Grand Hotel & Resort – Mykonos

Not just one of the nicest, but one of the most unique hotels in Greece can be found at the Mykonos Grand Hotel & Resort on the beautiful island of Mykonos.

And what makes it unique? It’s a seawater pool! Some people might be put off by this, but hear us out – they’re using a completely renewable source of water, reducing their water usage, which is especially important in Greece, where water can be scarce, particularly in the summer months.

In addition, swimming in seawater has numerous health benefits, including helping to boost your immune system, reducing inflammation, and being hugely beneficial for your skin because of the sheer amount of nutrients and minerals in it.

Plus, you can walk to the beach within less than a minute from the hotel if you want to feel the sand on your feet while also experiencing the beautiful feel of swimming in the Aegean Sea.

4. White Rocks Hotel – Kefalonia

Kefalonia is known to be one of the most stunning Greek islands to visit, and it’s little surprise, especially when you stay in White Rocks Hotel, with commanding views over the turquoise waters of the Ionian Sea.

Another advantage that White Rocks Hotel has is that it is not only absolutely beautiful accommodation-wise, but the swimming pool is also an infinity pool, meaning that you can see for miles over the beach below, and feel the baking hot rays of the sun throughout the day.

The hotel is also eco-certified, making it the perfect destination for those who are conscious about their carbon footprint when travelling, so if you want to stay somewhere that puts the environment first, along with incredible hospitality and a pool that you simply won’t want to leave, then make sure that you pay a visit to White Rocks Hotel next time you’re in Kefalonia.

5. Elysium Resort & Spa – Rhodes

Another hotel pool in Rhodes that was simply too good not to include on this list is the huge pool that can be found at Elysium Resort & Spa on the beautiful northeast coast of the island.

This pool is enormous and snakes its way through the hotel complex, so rather than walking from one area of the hotel to another, you can simply swim there!

And with wonderful waters, warmed under the natural heat of the Mediterranean sunshine, you’ll view this as the perfect way to get around the hotel. There are also several bars and restaurants within walking distance of the pool, and you can step out of the pool, cross the wooden bridge and be on the hotel’s very own private stretch of beach in less than 30 seconds – the absolute dream.

So, if you’ve spent too much time in the sun on the beach and need somewhere to cool down, simply make your way back to the hotel, and cool off in this enormous swimming pool that would simply be impossible to overcrowd. Bliss!

6. Lesante Blu – Zakynthos

While the island of Zakynthos (commonly known as Zante) is typically touted as an 18-30 holiday paradise, there are nevertheless some quieter areas of the island that have some beautiful hotels with equally stunning swimming pools.

This adults-only resort, Lesante Blu, is found on the eastern coast of the island and offers a quiet, tranquil location away from the bustling strip in southern Zakynthos.

The water in the pool is refilled through a waterfall-style system, which is incredibly unique and makes the most of the island’s natural geography. When it is illuminated on an evening, it is simply stunning.

The pool itself offers a beautiful escape from the warm sunshine, as well as excellent views over the Ionian Sea. A Grecian dream come true for sure.

7. Hotel Grande Bretagne – Athens

It would simply be wrong not to include an Athenian hotel on this list, and when you see the pool at Hotel Grande Bretagne, you will see why we’ve saved the best until last.

This rooftop pool, set high up in the Athenian landscape, offers some of the best views in the country.

In fact, you can actually see the world-famous Acropolis – a UNESCO World Heritage Site – from the pool itself. Being able to sip on your favourite cocktail in the pool while seeing one of the most famous historical structures in the world, a few hundred metres away, seems almost unbelievable.

There is also an underground spa pool, which offers an equally stunning paradise in a beautiful setting.

This is not just a great hotel to stay in (with a fantastic pool) for history lovers, but for anyone who wants that Instagram-perfect shot of their views from their hotel – simply incredible beyond belief.
