Hanoi – the capital of Vietnam – is known for its rich history, busy street life and centuries of French, Asian and Chinese influences all blended into one bustling city.

1. Hanoi Ceramic Road

You’ll find these gorgeous ceramic works along the walls of the Red River Dike system. In 2010 the wall was awarded the Guinness Book Of Records award for the longest ceramic piece of work in the world.

2. Hanoi Opera House

This standout building took ten years to build between 1901 and 1911 when the French still ran the city. For an extra special shot try and catch a performance here, as it’s equally impressive on the inside. You’ll find info about shows here.

3. The Train Street

One of the greatest experiences in Vietnam, this will be one of the most unique photos you’ll ever capture. The train comes down the street twice a day as locals scurry back into their houses, while tourists angle for the perfect shot with only inches to spare.

4. Hanoi Creative City

This skyscraper was launched as a creative hub with shops, co-working and cafes all bringing energy and vibrancy to the area. Endless Instagrammable spots in the area. You can read more about the area and project here.

5. Dong Xuan Market

This buzzing market in the central district was originally built by the French in the late 1800s. A wonderful place to just come and observe the madness of daily life in this great city. You’ll find more info on the market here.

6. St. Joseph’s Cathedral

St Joseph’s dates back to the 19th-century and is a Gothic Revival church. As well as being a striking photo setting, it’s also the head church for the nearly 4 million Catholics in the country.
