2. Our Lady of the Rocks

Our Lady of the Rocks is an island church that was built on a man-made island over 500 years ago. To visit, simply head to Kotor harbour and arrange a trip with one of the local taxi boats.

3. Kotor Fortress

The Kotor walls walk up along San Giovanni Fortress has become a must-do activity for those visiting Kotor. The walls look especially pretty at nighttime when they’re all lit up.

4. Kotor Cathedral

5. Kotor Waterfall and Rafting

Tara River Canyon is 1,333m deep, which makes it the deepest in Europe and second in the world, after the Grand canyon of Colorado River. So it’s ideal for a whitewater rafting day trip. The water is freezing – especially at the waterfall – but it’s beautiful.

6. Old Town Kotor

Kotor is a charming city with winding streets and squares, and its medieval old town has several churches. The pretty old town is one of the best-preserved medieval towns in this part of the Mediterranean.

7. Perast

Although small, Perast has a huge 16 churches dotted throughout. It’s a scenic bay town, with a Venice-like feel with the small streets and terracotta houses. Be sure to stop off here on your way to nearby Lady of our Rocks church.
