Taking your family on holiday is a real privilege, and where better to spend a couple of weeks in the summer holidays than on the sun-soaked Greek islands, where you’re guaranteed great fun, great beaches, excellent restaurants and more? However, choosing the right hotel is an essential part of making the holiday one that you and your kids will remember forever.

This article explores some of the best family-friendly hotels in the Greek islands, taking into account everything from location to amenities and more.

The Best Family-Friendly Resorts Across the Greek Islands

1. Atrium Palace Thalasso Spa Resort – Rhodes

“A realm of excitement tailored for children” is the tagline for the kids’ section of this hotel, so if you’re planning on a family holiday to Rhodes this year, then you’ve simply got to stay at Atrium Palace Thalasso Spa Resort.

There is a kids' club at the resort, where professionally-trained staff lead a multitude of activities to keep your little ones entertained throughout the day, from childrens’ discos, sports activities, the specialist kids pool with slides and more, and even a children’s spa so that they can experience a spa treatment.

The facilities here are ideal if you’re going on holiday with a family because it gives you the chance to relax and enjoy your holiday while your kids are getting entertained throughout the day.

And in case you needed any more incentives to stay here, one child aged 12 or under stays for free!

2. Creta Maris Resort – Crete

Crete is the biggest of the Greek islands, found close to the mainland and surrounded by the beautiful waters of the Aegean Sea.

Creta Maris Resort is a great place for family holidays, and this all-inclusive resort gives parents the chance for a much-needed break while your little ones can stay entertained, day and night.

This resort takes all-inclusive to the next level: 17 (yes, seventeen!) swimming pools, 7 restaurants, 10 bars, a cinema, a Blue-Flag certified private beach and of course, a kids’ club.

There are numerous activities throughout the day in the kids’ club, and guests can also make use of the on-site waterpark for a fun family day out, or perhaps take to the tennis courts, five-a-side pitch or mini golf course for a day of sporting fun with the family.

Plus, the resort is only 25km from Heraklion, the island’s capital, which means that you’re not far from a day out in the city if you want a change of scenery, and you won’t be sitting for hours on a coach transfer from the airport with your kids either.

3. Blue Lagoon Resort – Kos

Kos is another popular Greek island for families to visit, and it is known for its sparkling blue waters, golden beaches and glorious weather. If you’re looking to go away with your kids this summer, Blue Lagoon Resort is a must.

There are five different swimming pools at this resort (including two children’s pools, one for small infants under 4, and the other for children of all ages).

In addition, there is a water park onsite, which is a great way to spend some time with your kids in the safety of the resort, and without costing you a fortune to take your family to one, because this is included for guests at the resort.

Furthermore, the kids’ club at the hotel offers daytime and evening entertainment programmes – with activities ranging from face painting, sports, musical activities and more. A wonderful hotel where families come first.

4. The Peligoni Club – Zakynthos

Zakynthos – more commonly known as Zante – is typically thought of as an 18-30 holiday destination, but The Peligoni Club shows that this island can also be family-friendly, and this is a superb resort to stay at.

This is one of the most family-friendly hotels in the Greek Islands without a shadow of a doubt, as their hotel is tailored to 5 different levels of childcare: Crech (3 and under), Rugrats & Rascals (4-5), TARKA (6-10), Inbeteeners (11-13), and Teenagers (14+).

Each area is tailored with age-appropriate activities, so parents can step back and relax while professional childcare workers entertain children all day and evening.

Further, each group is fairly small, so you can assure that your child or children will get sufficient care and attention while you can go and enjoy a day out, or perhaps make use of the hotel’s other facilities such as renting a bicycle for the day, partaking in some yoga, or simply enjoying a few poolside drinks at the bar.

This is an excellent opportunity to sit back and relax while your kids are having the time of their lives – and if that isn’t the purpose of going on holiday with your family, then what is?

5. The Wild Hotel – Mykonos

It might seem impossible that a hotel without a dedicated kids’ club could possibly make a list of the 7 best family-friendly hotels in the Greek Islands, but The Wild Hotel in Mykonos deserves its place on here for good reason.

It’s a quiet and secluded hotel, and while there’s no kids' club, it’s ideal for those whose children prefer a quieter environment, such as those with additional needs.

Furthermore, parents can also book a babysitter for the night if they wish to go and enjoy a night out in the local town, or simply just have a few poolside drinks while their little one takes an afternoon nap.

Knowing that you can enjoy a quiet, secluded environment away from the hustle and bustle of other stereotypical all-inclusive family-friendly resorts is a winner in our eyes.

6. Mitsis Selection Alila – Rhodes

Another popular family-friendly hotel in Rhodes is the Mitsis Selection Alila.

The so-called ‘Mini-Club’ operates every day of the week from 10:00 until 18:00, and is a superb hotel for families with children to visit.

In the Mini Club, there is a pool especially for children, and it is heated to a warm temperature year-round, so if you plan on booking a February half-term, October half-term or Christmas break away, you can still get some winter sunshine and your kids can enjoy swimming, too.

There is also a playground where your little ones can burn off lots of that pent-up energy throughout the day, and enjoy a mini-disco in the evening while you can enjoy a couple of quiet drinks in the bar or just some you time. Bliss!

7. Ikos Odisia – Corfu

Ikos Odisia is a beautiful hotel, perfect for families who are visiting Corfu this summer.

There are three different kids’ clubs at the hotel, tailored to children of different ages, from the Heroes Creche (children under 4), the Kids Club (5-12), and Just4Teens (13+).

The clubs are all operated by childcare professionals, who are all assessed in line with UK Ofsted standards, so parents can truly relax and know that they are leaving their children in good hands.

In addition, the hotel also has a spa, so guests can take advantage of this and enjoy a wonderfully relaxing spa treatment while their kids are being entertained elsewhere.

Finally, the huge selection of restaurants with a wide range of food suitable for even the pickiest of eaters makes this one of the most family-friendly hotels in the Greek Islands without question.
