Summer might be over in the Northern Hemisphere, but that doesn’t mean we’re ready to let it go. We’re all guilty of a nostalgic scroll through summer photos, reminiscing on good times gone by. But let’s look to the future… and start planning for next year! Ibiza is a slice of heaven in the Mediterranean, known for its bohemian and free-spirited vibe as much as it is for its nightlife. Best Nightlife in Ibiza

Playa d’en Bossa

Playa d’en Bossa is one the east island of the island, and the main hub of round-the-clock partying. The atmosphere is high day and night, with beach clubs, pool parties, and super clubs galore. By day, you’ll see sun seekers lounging on Balinese-style beds and sipping cocktails in beach bars with a view of the warm Mediterranean. By night, the strip comes alive with neon lights and booming music, with parties going on in upmarket clubs. Ushuaïa is an iconic open-air club, having hosted many international DJs. Hï Ibiza is a state-of-the art-super club, with regular parties going on until the wee hours, while Ocean (formerly Sankeys) is an underground mecca of tech music. It isn’t all about clubbing in Playa d’en Bossa. There’s everything from live music bars to sports lounges, and local tapas spots to upmarket lounges.

Ibiza Town

Located on the southeast coast of the island, Ibiza Town is otherwise known by its Catalan name, Eivissa. It’s a sprawling, surprisingly cosmopolitan city, with whitewashed houses and beautiful scenery. Some of the clubbers tend to miss this part of Ibiza, spending most of their time in Playa d’en Bossa, but it’d be a shame to miss this bohemian gem. There’s so much to this city from candlelit dinners and bars laced with fairy lights in Dalt Vila, the old town, to shisha along the port. The port is lined with an array of bars and restaurants which spill out to the waterfront, with a sparkling view of the marina. The bars close at 1 am (very early by Ibiza standards), so it’s a good place to have dinner and drinks before heading to a club.

When you think of where the best clubs are in Ibiza, you might not go straight to Ibiza Town. Although it’s the island’s only city, it’s more of a family spot. But there are three brilliant clubs here, and we think you might have heard of one. The world-famous Pacha is one of the most iconic clubs on the island with its instantly recognisable two-cherry logo. It first opened in 1973, when Ibiza was but a hippy getaway. Its sister venue Lío is a restaurant-come-club, with live cabaret performers every night in the summer. And then there’s HEART Ibiza, which was dreamed up and brought to life by the brothers that brought you the Cirque du Soleil – that’s got to be worth a visit, right?

San Rafael

San Rafael is a small village positioned between Ibiza Town and San Antonio. It embraces the bohemian, hippy vibe to Ibiza that might have got lost in some areas over the years. But despite its relaxed, artisan vibe, it’s actually home to some of the best nightlife in Ibiza. Nay, the world’s most famous clubs! Super club Privilege proudly holds the title of “the biggest club non the world” with a capacity of 10,000 people. To put that into perspective, venues earn the title of ‘super club’ when they have a capacity of 3,000 and over – Privilege has over triple that. It sadly had to close during the pandemic, but it said to reopen next summer. Fingers crossed!

Another huge claim to fame for San Rafael is Amnesia. The club began its life as an 18th-century farmhouse, or finca. After the post-Spanish Civil War hippy invasion of the island in the 60s and 70s, the house was leased out for just €120 a month to a man named Antonio Escohotado, who wanted a bar on the island. He wanted to name it something that would epitomise what this bar was all about, where people could come to forget their daily life, and ended up with ‘The Workshop of Forgetfulness’. Of course, we can see where this is going – it eventually became Amnesia, and it’s been a pillar of Ibiza’s nightlife for over five decades.

San Antonio

If Playa d’en Bossa is the new kid on the block, San Antonio is the big sister that’s done it all before. Although other areas have more of a reputation for super clubs, San Antonio is home to a European holiday classic – the strip. The West End strip is a row of bars and pubs, with the odd kebab shop dotted in there. Infamy (and probably a bit of snobbery) has surrounded the West End for a long time, but it’s undeniably a fun place to go out. Whatever happened to a good ol’ fish bowl, eh?

Bustling strips aren’t everyone’s cup of tea. But we can’t imagine anyone having an aversion to the Sunset Strip. It’s one of the most beautiful places on the island, with iconic spots like Cafe Mambo and Cafe del Mar being the ultimate sunset spots. This area is synonymous with the chilled out Ibiza, and there are so many places to choose from. Once the sun goes down and the drinks start to flow, you might want to move on to somewhere a bit livelier. Although San Antonio isn’t known for its super clubs, it does have two of the island’s most popular spots – Eden and Es Paradis. San Antonio’s mix of bars, clubs, pool parties, restaurants, and more, firmly places it as one of the best places for nightlife in Ibiza.
