Just 30 minutes from Copenhagen, Malmö is joined to Denmark by the mighty, arching Öresund bridge. Snapping great photos for Instagram in Malmö is easy-peasy.

It’s a charming city with a vibrant food scene, cobblestone streets , a 16th-century shopping market square and a pretty harbour. Here’s our top picks of the places that deserve pride of place on your ‘gram…

Best Instagram spots in Malmö

1. Gamla Väster

This is the western part of the Old Town district of the city, and it’s a prime spot for Instagram pics in Malmö. Colourful historical houses, winding alleys and cobblestones add a charming vibe. Check out the streets of Jakob Nilsgatan, Hjorttackegatan and Jöns Filsgatan for the prettiest spots.

2. City Library

The city library (Stadsbiblioteket) is well-known for its beautiful architecture, designed by architect Henning Larsen. The huge modern window is the library’s “Calendar of Light” and contrasts with the 1901 Castle section of the library. It’s a beautiful place to spend an hour or so.

Malmö’s Turning Torso is a neo-futurist residential skyscraper and the tallest building in Scandinavia. Groups of between 10 and 75 people or more can arrange field trips to floors 53 and 54 any time during the year, so arrange a visit if you’re in a group.

4. Old Lighthouses

You’ll find these pretty lighthouses between the old historic district and the new Väster Hamnen district. Stroll along the promenade and you’ll have a great view of the bridge in the background. Sunrise or sunset are the best times to go.
