It’s open from 7am – midnight, so head down in the evening for less crowds and less heat! It can be a bit of a maze, but you’ll soon find yourself happily wandering the tight aisles of the indoor market.

Come on down to Chatuchak Market where you can get your shopping shoes on. This market is one of the largest markets in the world and has over 8,000 stalls ready to sell you everything from snacks to souvenirs.

4. Sunday Night Market – Lamai, Koh Samui, Thailand

Just 30 minutes from Chaweng, you’ll find a buzzing street food market every single Sunday night in the laid-back town of Lamai. It’s an authentic experience of Thailand’s market culture, with local food stalls selling everything from Thai to Italian and cocktails to sip on the go.

Four streets close off vehicle access every Sunday from 3-11pm, with delicious food available from over 100 stalls. There’s also knock-off designer goods and handicrafts for souvenirs.

5. Angkor Night Market – Siem Reap, Cambodia

Siem Reap’s original night market is still one of the best things to do in the town. It opens every night of the week from 5pm – 12am and there’s over 200 stalls to browse. The best thing about this market is you won’t find any fake goods here – it was founded in 2007 to preserve local Khmer crafts and culture. So, all the vendors sell things made by local communities and non-governmental organisations.

6. Bugis Street Market – Singapore

This busy street market is easily one of the best night markets in South East Asia, and opens from 11am – 11pm. It’s a covered bazaar that sells everything from quirky knickknacks and homeware to affordable and fashionable clothes, shoes and accessories.

While you wander through the maze of shops, grab a bite at one of the snack stalls located within. With over 600 stores spread across three levels, you’ll definitely find something that suits you. Head up to the second and third level for clothes etc.

7. Taman Connaught Market – Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

In 2012, CNN Travel voted KL as the fourth best shopping city in the world, so it makes sense that the city is home to some great markets. One of the best night markets in the city is Taman Connaught Market. It’s famous for its vast array of Malaysian hawker stalls, dishing up fresh and delicious local bites to eat.

It stretches on for over 2km, with over 700 stalls selling everything from toys to stylish clothes, traditional crafts and books.
