It’s over 130 years old, with the vaulted ground floor in Neo-Gothic style is richly decorated with paints, stained glass, mosaics and carved panelings.
5. Have a picnic in Cişmigiu Garden
A beautiful, leafy park with stone bridges, plenty of benches to rest on and scenic cafes. It’s a favourite hangout spot for locals, and you’ll see why once you step inside.
Cişmigiu Lake freezes over in winter and is magically turned into an open-air skate rink, while in summer you can rent pedalo boats to float around on it.
This incredible bookstore spans across six floors; with its winding staircases and gorgeous natural light you’ll get the perfect Bucharest Instagram shot. It houses over 10,000 books and a bistro on the top floor. It does get busy, so come midweek if you want plenty of space to browse.
