2. Stroll through Cubbon Park
Officially called Sri Chamarajendra Park, this 1870 pretty-as-a-picture park has landscaped gardens. There’s a cute farmers market every sunday, and you’ll often happen on an outdoor yoga class.
Bangalore is also called the ‘Garden City of India’, and once you stroll through this peaceful oasis you’ll understand why.
3. Visit Bangalore Palace
Bangalore Palace is a 19th-century Tudor/Gothic palace that was inspired by Windsor Castle in the United Kingdom. There’s pretty Victorian furniture, unique artefacts and paintings that perfectly show what life was like in the old Indian dynasty.
You could easily spend 2-3 hours here, and the entrance fee for foreigners is INR 460.
4. Check out the flowers at KR Market
Bangalore’s largest wholesale flower market is at the junction of Krishnarajendra Road and Mysore Road. The market quicks off super early in the morning, so try get here first thing for the full experience of the local bargaining.
Bursting with colour, you’ll find every shade and variety of flower you can ever imagine at this hectic market. It’s a photographer’s dream setting.

5. Enjoy a night out in the ‘Pub Capital of India’
Bangalore has a great choice of bars and pubs, if you’re looking for a night out on the town. From hip hop nights to rooftop bars with panoramic views, you’d be crazy to visit Bangalore and not enjoy a drink.

6. Shop ’til you drop at Ghandi Bazaar
Take a walk through the delightfully hectic Ghandi Bazaar if you want to do some shopping. You’ll pick up local spices, delicate silk sarees and other interesting goods.
There’s also some great food vendors serving up Masala Chai and Dosas if you need some refreshments. A classic Indian shopping district that’s well worth a visit.
7. Visit the National Gallery of Modern Art
A treasure trove of modern art, this art museum is housed in a historic colonial mansion that’s almost as beautiful as the artworks within. Discover paintings, sculptures, graphic prints and examples of early photography in India, which showcase the historical development of modern art in India.
