In the latest crazy story emerging around the coronavirus, monkeys in Thailand have stormed an entire town as they battle over a single banana. The monkeys normally get food from the 100s of tourists who visit the town. But, as the tourists in Thailand have dried up, so has the monkeys’ food source.

The monkeys were filmed in the Lopburi Provincein Central Thailand, and show the effects that the tourism drop-off has on wild animals

“I think the monkeys were very, very hungry,” Sasaluk Rattanachai, who filmed the fight, told the Daily Mail.

“They went crazy for a single piece of food. I’ve never seen them this aggressive,” she added.

Thailand as a country has 35 million visitors per year, but many estimate that number could drop by as many as 10 million this year.
