Meet the kangaroos on Lucky Bay
Esperance is the closest town to Lucky Bay, famous for watching kangaroos come and sunbathe on the white sands. But this is by no means the only thing this remote town has to offer.
Explore the Recherche Archipelago
Esperance perfectly faces an array of picturesque sloping islands, called the Recherche Archipelago. Recherche Archipelago is one of the many reasons Esperance is known for its stunning landscapes.

Eating out in Esperance
Esperance is home to some of the most incredible restaurants and street food vendors. Whether you’re looking for a light bite as you explore the town, or a fancier sit-in meal – the town has it all. Some local favourites include Loose Goose Restaurant, a modern Australian eatery and Fish Face, which has some of the best seafood in town.
Esperance Transport
When planning a trip to Esperance, we recommend getting yourself a set of four wheels. Given the remoteness of the town, having a car (we recommend a four-wheel drive) will allow you to make the most of your time. Unlike many towns, Esperance’s beaches are car-friendly (so long as you stick to the 40 kilometres per hour rule!).
Esperance is a popular place for road-trippers, thanks to the endless ocean views along the coast. You can hire a car in advance online or organise your vehicle at Avis or Budget offices in the town centre.
