With lockdowns imposed on cities all over the world during the coronavirus pandemic, people are badly in need of some innovative tinned food recipe ideas. With pantries fully stocked, there are only so many times you can repeat that one recipe you know. Fear not though: we have you covered with some culinary magic.
Tuna and tinned beans are key items on most people’s stockpile lists, so we’ve combined them into quite possibly the tastiest tinned food recipe you’ll ever see.
Alongside some corn chips (which most people also have lying about in cupboards),k you’ll need some fresh ingredients, but there are only 7 ingredients in total for this dish. This is so good that you’ll quickly get addicted to it as a recipe – quarantine or no quarantine.
Ingredients For Tinned Food Recipe
- Tinned tuna
- Tinned kidney beans
- Corn tortilla chips
- Limes (or lemons)
- Cheddar cheese
- Yoghurt (or sour cream)
- Coriander
Start by adding the tuna, yoghurt and chopped coriander in a bowl. Add some salt and pepper to season.
Squeeze in the lime juice. This gives the recipe that amazing zingy taste.
Evenly spread the corn chips out onto an ovenproof tray.
Strain the beans and spread them all over the corn chips.
Spoon the tuna mixture in small-but-even piles over the tray of chips.
Cover the whole mixture with a generous amount of grated cheese. You can really never have enough cheese when it comes to this sort of dish, so don’t be shy!
Pop the tray under into the oven at 200C (400F) for 2-3 minutes until the cheese has melted and the mixture has warmed slightly.
Remove and serve family style in the centre of the table for people to help themselves to those big cheesy mouthfuls.
