Grabbing a morning bowl of pho and a cà phê is an essential part of Hanoi life, but the brunch scene here is also pretty banging. With Western comforts like fluffy pancake stacks, grilled cheese sandwiches and huevos rancheros, brunch in Hanoi is just as good as anywhere on the other side of the world.

We’ve done the hungry (well, greedy!) work to suss out the best brunch spots in the city. Get ready for a feast…

Best places for brunch in Hanoi

1. Lifted Coffe + Brunch

Easily one of the most popular spots for brunch in Hanoi, Lifted has an Aussie-inspired brunch menu packed full of delicious things to eat. Their triple grilled cheese stack is carb heaven, and their breakfast gnocchi dish is a must-try.

Grab a seat on the balcony for prime people watching, and be prepared to wait for a table on the weekends.

2. Saint Honore

This French bakery has several locations across the city, including Tay Ho and the French Quarter. There’s over 25 types of bread baked daily alongside a wide selection of sweet and savoury pastries, cakes and classic French sweet treats.

The brunch menu has Eggs Benedict with jalapeno hollandaise, steak and eggs, traditional fry-ups and more.

3. The Hanoi Social Club

The Hanoi Social Club is a dreamy brunch place with a great range of sweet and savoury dishes. Choose between a spiced French toast with raisons and cream or a potato fritters and chorizo. There’s also a cocktail menu if you want a boozy brekkie.

Plus, they hire their chefs by working with an NGO dedicated to providing vocational skills in hospitality to disadvantaged youth. It’s a win-win.

4. Ma Xó

Ma Xó is a beautiful little place that looks out over the water in Ba Dinh. They have a great espresso machine and a brunch menu that includes Shakshuka, omelette with roti bread and asparagus or a beetroot and avocado salad.

The vibe here is ultimate Sunday bliss: take a seat beside the lake or snuggle inside the cafe where you can admire the artwork.

5. Durty Bird

‘Cos is it even brunch if it’s not bottomless? Durty Bird is a trendy fried chicken joint that does a great bottomless brunch on the weekend: free flow Prosecco, Bloody Marys or house wine with brunch dish for 500k.

Chow down on chargrilled and buttermilk fried chicken waffles. This place is addictively good.

6. Maison de Tet decor

Maison de Tet decor is located in the heart of Tay Ho District, set in an airy French Villa. It serves up organic food, with many ingredients coming from its very own farm. Think: large salad bowls, gluten free breads baked in-house daily, micro batch coffees roasted on site and more.

This is the place to go when you want a feast that’s seriously feel-good.

7. Ming Restaurant

One of the best Cantonese restaurants in Hanoi, Ming at Pan Pacific Hotel is known for its dim sum buffet. We repeat: an all-you-can-eat dim sum extravaganza. The menu is inspired from all parts of the world, from Singapore and Taipei.

It’s available every day from 11am-2pm, so you don’t even need to wait for the weekend. The buffet costs 488k, but it’s worth it.

How do these rankings work?
