Scotland has a pretty decent reputation as being a place where you’ll have a great night out, and Glasgow bars are as good as it gets.
We’re picked the 7 best bars in the city – so all you have to do is plan your outfit and grab a couple of friends before heading out for a nice cold drink…
1. Grunting Growler
This independent craft bar is one for the beer lovers. They say that life is too short to drink bad beer, so they sell over 120 awesome brews in their “mini bar”, as well as having a shop where you can sip and takeaway.
All in all, a wonderful place to spend some time.
2. The Rum Shack
Rum isn’t as popular as other spirits these days (we’re looking at you, gin) but there’s a reason it has been so popular for centuries. With over 100 varieties of rum to try, this is the place to drink it. Throw in a great beer garden and this place is the dream.
3. Nice N Sleazy
A proper old-school music venue where you could see all sorts of national and international up-and-coming stars perform before they hit the big time. Bargain drinks offers and a non-pretentious vibe make this so different to many other modern bars.
That’s exactly why we love it.
4. Kelvingrove Café
You just know that if a bar has been around since 1896, then they have to be doing something right. This iconic location always moves with the times and their food, cocktails and wine selection is top notch.
Kelvingrove Cafe will be here for another 120 years at least.
5. St. Luke’s
St Luke’s is actually a huge converted church that’s had a million pound makeover and is now party central for the East End of Glasgow. The perfect spot for a big night out and a bit of a boogie.
6. BeGIN
Given the wild popularity of gin of late, we think it would be foolish not to appreciate this West End bar that has over 90 unique varieties available. Add in lots of creative tonics and gin cocktails and it’s a foolproof choice.
7. Shilling Brewing Co.
You’ll find a huge selection of bottled beers here, alongside plenty on tap. Throw in some great homemade pizza and this is the sort of place you bring a couple of mates to and don’t leave for hours.
