Perched atop the Radisson Red Hotel, the Red Sky Bar offers sweeping views of the River Clyde, Clydeside Shipyards and the SEC Armadillo. Between its hot pink bathtub and bountiful cherry blossoms, it isn’t hard to see why October boasts one of the city’s most Instagrammed rooftop bars. The drinks menu is every bit as fun and flirty as the décor, with cocktails like the ‘Chanel No. 5 Bramble’ and the ‘Drumstick Martini’. But the bar is best known for its brilliant pornstar martinis. In fact, it’s said that October has created Glasgow’s finest frozen martini. Beyond cocktails, there’s an extensive list range of beers, wines and spirits to choose from, as well as crowd-pleasing small plates and a bellini brunch if you’re feeling peckish.

3. Chinaski’s

This literary-themed bar celebrates the 20th-century poet, short story writer and novelist Charles Bukowski. It’s an intimate spot, with dozen-or-so candlelit tables inside and a sun-filled terrace open from spring to summer. It’s best known for its bourbon, and the menu features at least half a dozen bourbon signature cocktails, though there are plenty of other drinks to choose from. The food is excellent and vegans are well-catered for too. Arrive hungry, and tuck into Korean fried cauliflower with red dragon sauce, fish tacos with jalapeno jam, smash patty burgers, and more. You won’t regret it.

4. Mackintosh at the Willow

If you’re looking to make the most of the sunshine, hotfoot to Mackintosh at the Willow. It’s one of the only south-facing roof terraces in the city centre. Perched atop the iconic Mackintosh building, designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh in 1903, the space shows off original features like the famous chimney and original brickwork. The terrace is only open during the summer months so watch this space for 2023 opening dates!

5. Malone’s Irish Bar

6. The Corinthian Club

Housed in one of Glasgow’s most impressive buildings, the Corinthian Club has been described as “the jewel in Glasgow’s crown”. It’s easy to see why.
