Ever wondered what pure paradise looks like? Well, it’s a lot like this. As in exactly like this.

Located in the Lhaviyani Atoll of the Maldives, Hurawalhi Island Resort is an adults-only luxury resort that’s home to the world’s largest, all-glass undersea restaurant, ‘5.8’.

You can stay in one of 90 stylish villas at this five-star resort, including 60 Ocean Villas and 30 Beach Villas. Rooms feature sumptuous linens on king size beds and private terraces with panoramic views.

You’ll soon discover that the turquoise blue water you’ve seen in photos is even clearer in real life. Imagine waking up every morning and stepping straight into the ocean? Heaven.

The resort’s Romantic Ocean Villas boast undisturbed views of the Indian Ocean from the spacious sundeck. There’s even an outdoor bathtub where you can watch the sunset while you soak.

All villas are over-water so you can step straight from your room into the ocean below.

After you’ve spent the day living your best life, you can dine on an extravagant tasting menu in 5.8. Marvel at the aquarium like conditions in the crystal clear waters watching turtles, manta rays and reef sharks swim past. Most recently, 5.8 has been transformed into a yoga studio like no other, offering underwater yoga and meditation sessions to help guests find their zen and become “at one with nature.”

For those looking for the ultimate escape (read: most of us!), guests can embark on a private trip to Hurawalhi’s secluded Dream Island beach. Enjoy a gourmet picnic, candlelit dinners, fitness classes or snorkelling adventures.

If all you want to do is stay still and chill out, visit Hurawalhi’s award-winning Duniye Spa. It offers a range of beauty and spa treatments inspired by both ancient traditions and modern practices. Best of all? They only use organic, non-toxic and cruelty-free products.

Want to explore those sparkling blue waters?

The hotel even has its own Hurawalhi Marine Biology Center, with a resident marine biologist who is researching the Lhaviyani Atoll manta ray population. So guests can learn all about the reefs where over 2,000 species of fish and more than 200 species of coral call home.

The resort is just a 40 minute seaplane flight from Male, so getting here is easy-peasy. The hard part? Forcing yourself to leave.
