1. El Paso Museum of Art

For a great collection of art from the Byzantine era to Baroque and Renaissance art, you need to check out the El Paso Museum of Art. Many pieces of art in this museum date as far back as the 12th century. Along with famous international art, this museum also houses a collection of Southwest works of art that has been influential in this city’s culture and history.

Come check out the fantastic artwork at this museum to get a great historical perspective of European and American artwork.

2. Plaza Theatre

The Plaza Theatre is the crown jewel of arts and culture in this city. This downtown theatre was built in 1930 and today, is still operating and plenty of Broadway shows and live musical performances.

Come here for a play or at least to admire the Spanish Colonial Revival architecture that is the Plaza Theatre.

3. El Paso Mission Trail

If your feet are up for it, you can test out your stamina with this nine-mile trek on the El Paso Mission Trail. The Mission Trail is a long hike with multiple stops along the way that will help you learn more about this city’s history and culture. For a portion of this long hike, you’ll be travelling on the one of the oldest roads in North America.

If you’re going to do this, you might want to budget a full-day to complete the entire journey.

4. El Paso Zoo

The El Paso Zoo is a great place to come to with the entire family to take in some very exotic and endangered species, such as the Asian elephant and Amur Leopard, to name a few. In total, you’ll come across 700 animals and can even take in a flightless-bird show in their Wildlife Amphitheater.

Come check out some of the cool and rarest animals you’ll find in the world at the El Paso Zoo.

5. Wyler Aerial Tramway

For the best panoramic views of El Paso, you need to use the Wyler Aerial Tramway. This four-minute gondola ride takes you from the ground all the way up to the top of Ranger Peak for the best views of the city.

To see further past what the eye can see, you need to take the Tramway way up!

6. Fort Bliss and Old Ironsides Museums

Fort Bliss and Old Ironsides Museums was once a US Army post in the mid-1800’s and today the Army Air Defense Center calls this place home. Air and Missile defense are exhibited here at the Fort Bliss Museum including lots of other military artefacts used in other combats and wars.

7. Keystone Heritage Park and the El Paso Desert Botanical Garden

Keystone Heritage Park and the Botanical Garden is the perfect spot for a tranquil and relaxing day. Here, you can roam on the paths through this 52-acre park and admire the beautiful scenery and the many different species that live here.

If you’re looking for that peaceful stroll through the park, albeit not the lushest park, then come to Keystone Heritage Park.
