Good Vibes: World’s First Happiness Museum Opens In Copenhagen

If you’re in need of a little spirt booster, then the world’s first Happiness Museum in Copenhagen should be top of your post-pandemic travel list. Confused about what a museum dedicated to happiness consists of? First things first, it makes sense that it’s in Demark. The Danes are consistently voted as one of the happiest people in Europe.

The museum itself will help you “understand why Denmark is often called the happiest country on earth, what hygge has got to do with it, and how you can measure something as subjective as happiness.”

It’s the brainchild of the Happiness Research Institute, an independent think tank focusing on well-being, happiness and quality of life.

Some of the exhibitions in the small-but-mighty museum include displays on ‘The Anatomy of a Smile’. Can you recognise a fake and genuine smile? Why is laughter contagious? Other happy questions you can dive into includes how happiness change with age?; will our phones soon know how we feel? And how has out understanding of happiness changed in the past 200 years?

The museum’s hope is that “guests will leave a little wiser, a little happier and a little more motivated to make the world a better place.” The museum costs 95 DK ($15 USD) for an adult ticket. A small price to pay for pure and utter happiness!
