Jewish cuisine is often thought of as being simply the latkes and pastrami dishes that stem from Eastern Europe, but the cuisine has such a varied and rich history. Jewish dishes range from falafel and hummus of Israeli cuisine, couscous and vegetables in Sephardic (Mediterranean) cuisine, gelfite fish from Ashkenazic (Eastern Europe) cuisine and the Jewish-American style dishes that’s a mix of different regions and traditions.

For thousands of years, Jews created their own take on local cuisine where they lived, incorporating kosher laws into cooking techniques and switching out ingredients. This has resulted in a wide variety of ‘Jewish foods’ – all delicious! We’ve rounded up some of the best dishes that you can recreate at home.
