Estonian Burger Factory is a hugely popular burger place that prides itself on using largely organic ingredients, with free range eggs, beef, lamb and chicken. There’s 12 tempting burgers to choose from here, with toppings such as gouda cheese and smoked bacon, as well as mini-burgers so you can pick and mix. Each burger includes a beer pairing recommendation, which is a nice touch.
3. Burger Kitchen – Haabneeme
This award-winning burger restaurant has any sort of burger you could want, from juicy beef, crispy chicken or lamb to grilled salmon and veggie burgers. With a choice of a soft brioche or black bun, these bad boys taste just as good as they look.
If you can handle a challenge, order the XL Burger: 2x beef patty, brioche bun, 2x cheddar cheese, tomato, 2x smoked cheese, tomato, pickled red onion, salted cucumber, fresh salad, and bbq mayonnaise.
4. BurgerBros – Rakvere
There’s not really any space to eat your burger inside here, but that doesn’t stop loyal locals flocking to BurgerBros on a regular basis. Fans of this spot love the belly-busting burgers and great value, with pillowy soft brioche buns and juicy beef. If only all street food tasted this good, right?
5. Burger Box – Tallinn
Burger Box might not look like much on the outside – blink and you’ll miss this tiny burger spot – but its creative Asian-fusion burger menu is superb. Order an aromatic chicken pho, but make some room for their burgers. You can choose between classic cheeseburger, china pork burger and falafel burger, and have some (kimchi) fries on the side. FYI, it’s cash only.
6. Uulits – Tallinn
With a few locations now in Estonia, it’s fair to say that Uulits has grown into a real the pioneer of Estonian gourmet street food. They serve up fresh traditional street food prepared in a modern, healthy, and Estonian way, and the burger is the perfect example. They use 100% Angus beef and even make all the mayos, sauces and ketchup from scratch.
7. Ossu Burger – Tartu
For hipster-esque vibes, great music and even better burgers, you can never go wrong with Ossu Burger. Boasting a menu of seven gourmet burgers to choose from, each as tasty as the next, you’ll be in burger heaven here. The beef patties are thick and juicy, seared to keep in all those juices and covered in melted cheese.
8. Grillers Burgerikohvik – Rakvere
Grillers might look like a simple, standard burger restaurant from the outside, but inside is a not-so-well-kept secret: you’ll find some of the best burgers in Estonia right here. There’s beef, lamb, chicken, veggie, pork and turkey burgers on the menu, all topped off with creative toppings. Try the smoked cheese, red onion marmalade, sea buckthorn marmalade or Asian-style veggies.
9. Burger & Ribi – Tallinn
Despite its location in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the lovely Old Town of Tallinn, Burger & Ribi is a peaceful oasis that we like to call ‘burger Nirvana’. They stack burgers high here, so arrive hungry and ready for a feast – add on crispy onion rings on top or double beef patties. The beef is premium quality too, so you can even order it rare.
10. Patarei Burger – Tallinn
For a truly gourmet feast, make your way to Noblessner Harbour and stop in at Patarei Burger. Here, the burgers are made in a Spanish coal oven with temperatures above +250 °C, which gives the meat a particularly juicy taste. With black brioche buns and toppings such as truffle mayonnaise, it’s a must-eat. We love how the burgers are inspired after different countries, too. Try the Spanish burger with manchego and chorizo.
11. Meat Market – Tartu
With a name like ‘Meat Market’ you can expect a serious passion for all things beef, and that’s exactly what you’ll find here. While you might be tempted by dishes such as tender ox cheek or Estonian meats sharing platter, hone in on the burger. It’s full of flavour, thanks to quality beef and farm-fresh toppings.
12. Vesivärava Grill – Tallinn
This cosy local burger grill has an on-site bakery, so the burgers here have the freshest and softest buns you’ll try for mile. It’s nothing fancy, just huge portions of proper homecooked food using organic beef that’s seriously good. Add on some cheese and fresh salads, and you have one of the tastiest snacks in the city.
13. Dereku Burger – Tallinn
This warm and cosy burger joint is originally from Saaremaa, but now has a lovely space in Tallinn where they serve up 100% Estonian beef burgers that are flame-grilled for droolworthy flavours. Their signature burger is actually a tender pork & beef patty blend, topped with cheddar cheese, mustard and red pickles in a golden sesame seed bun. Be sure to try their specials too – the kimchee chilli burger is superb!
14. V Vegan Restoran – Tallinn
Wildcard alert! Yes, we are including a vegan burger among our list of the best burgers in Estonia. V Vegan Restoran proves that you don’t need beef to make an excellent and satisfying burger.
Highlights include the savoury Spicy Peanut Stuff Burger. It’s served with sauerkraut and carrots and made with lots of love and passion.
15. Jahu – Tallinn
All the tender beef at Jahu is sourced from Estonian butchers and their burger buns are baked from their own recipe at the local bakery.
Word to the wise, order the Truffle Burger: Swiss cheese, pancetta, rocket, tomato, pickled red onion and truffle mayo. Feel like something simple? Get the Classic Burger with cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles and garlic aioli.
16. Mack Bar-B-Que Beachclub – Pärnu
This American-style eatery is only open during the summer months, from June through August, to plan a weekend getaway the beach for a burger feast. There’s all sorts of classic American snacks, from crispy chicken wings to loaded burgers. Customer favourites include the Triple Cheese, which has goat cheese, vintage cheddar and Old Holland cheese.
17. Trikster Tihane – Tartu
This cute café-restaurant located in the building of the Widget Factory in Tartu bakes its own wholewheat buns fresh every morning for their yummy burgers. Thick beef patties (there’s also a pulled duck burger or fried and breaded cheese for veggies!) pack a real flavour punch. It’s the sort of friendly neighbourhood restaurant every town needs.

Want authentic American fare? Diner is a proper, USA-inspired streetfood diner that has all the classic comfort food dishes on the menu. With a charming old-timey feel and friendly staff, it ticks all the boxes. A wide range of burgers on the menu is the real draw though. 20. Linnutee Puhvet – Tallinn
What started off as a hugely popular food truck has now found a permanent home in Tallinn’s Old Town. 22. Rohelise Maja Pood ja Kohvik – Viljandi
First and foremost a coffee shop, this charming Viljandi store also serves up a hearty lunch menu of savoury pastries and snacks. The burgers here aren’t on the menu all the time, only on weekends during the summer, but they’re worth the wait. Proper smokey barbecue flavours fill the air of the cute backyard as they grill them to order.
23. Herman’s Bistro & Bar – Haapsalu
This fun and colourful bistro has all sorts of good things to eat on the menu, from hearty sandwiches and buffalo chicken wings to their must-order burger. It’s a little different here, as they make their burger with pulled pork instead of beef in a pink beetroot bun. Filled with cheddar cheese, marinated onions and a garlic-cream cheese spread, it’s simply superb.

Farm Burger in Rapla is a classic burger grill with well-priced burgers that are simple yet delicious. They don’t add on anything too wild, sticking to the basics of a great burger… Just tender beef, melted cheese and soft buns. They’re generous with the salads too!
