What we love about the best bars in is the fact that the Portuguese city offers a variety of different options.
From fancy cocktail bars to hometown joints that serve the local ginjinha, you’ll have your fair share of choices. The vibes, in general, are pretty relaxed, however, as Lisbon is one of the most laid-back cities in Europe.

Best Bars In Lisbon
1. Red Frog
We’re not quite sure what’s with this city’s fascination with speakeasies, but some of the best bars in Lisbon are set up as Prohibition-era bars. And, we’re totally into it.
Red Frog is often noted as the favourite amongst locals, probably because the walls seem to breathe in and out, aching to tell their secrets to guests sipping drinks in clandestine corners. Ask the bartenders to show you the secret room.
2. Monkey Mash
The same people behind Red Frog also created Monkey Mash, which would also come in at No. 1 on this list if it weren’t for the fact that Red Frog’s speakeasy vibes make it super elegant.
Monkey Mash, on the other hand, is way more laid-back and tropical. Expect unique cocktails here from award-winning mixologists. We think this is one of the most Instagrammable bars in Lisbon.
3. Pensão Amor
From the chandeliers to the velvet drapes and even the seductive photographs, it’s not hard to see why Pensão Amor is one of the best bars in Lisbon. It’s so sensually elegant, in part due to the fact that it used to be a brothel.
Head here for high-class cocktails and uber-classic drinks. Sip them as you enjoy the whirlwind of eclectic music and memories that seem to float through the air here.
4. Foxtrot
Ready to time travel? Foxtrot will transport you back in time to the Roaring 20s with its art decor interior. It is a speakeasy, after all. We recommend Foxtrot if you’re looking for class and truly well-served cocktails.
5. Pavilhão Chinês
If you’re noticing a trend here, then you’re totally on track. The best bars in Lisbon are all pretty high-class and antique. Pavilhão Chinês might seem like a continuation of somewhere like Pensão Amor, but it’s completely unique and trendy in its own right.
Transition between any one of the five rooms here and take a different drink with you to each one.
6. Toca da Raposa
Toca da Raposa is the brainchild of one of London’s top mixologists. The theme behind this trendy bar in Lisbon is all about forage and fress Portuguese produce.
The aesthetic is stripped-down and raw, which somehow works extremely well for the kind of cocktails they serve. It’s hard to really describe what’s so special about Toca da Raposa, but it’s without a doubt one of the best, and most intriguing, bars in Lisbon.
7. Fábrica Musa
Just like in Porto, craft beer has become a thing in Lisbon too. Fábrica Musa is located in the city’s beer district, but it’s so much more than a brewery and beer bar. It feels much more like an art studio or creative space than a bar, and that’s what we think you’ll love about it.
