Spending some time in L.A? Whether you’re into the outdoors, culture, food or just living a #glam life, this is one city where you’ll find something new to do with every visit.
Some of the best things to do in Los Angeles include historical food markets and famous hikes – here’s our top seven picks.
1. Experience infinity at The Broad
This free contemporary art museum has two popular exhibits of Yayoi Kusama’s immersive works. You can’t visit L.A and not check out The Infinity Mirrored Room – ‘The Souls of Millions of Light Years Away’.
It’s an immersive mirror-lined room that you enter for 45 seconds, with flashing LED lights. The door closes behind you so you can get ‘gramming instantly.
2. Hike Runyon Canyon
For a different view of Hollywood, head to Runyon Canyon Park, one of the most popular hiking areas in L.A. Just two blocks from bustling Hollywood Boulevard, Runyon Canyon is well-known for its frequent celebrity sightings and a 90-acre off-leash dog park.
Celebs and cute dogs? Heaven.
3. Catch a game at Dodger Stadium
For baseball fans, it doesn’t get any better than catching a game at Dodger Stadium, one of the great cathedrals of major league baseball and one of L.A.’s most popular Instagram locations.
Plus, you can drink giant beers and eat giant hotdogs.
4. Watch the sunset from Spire 73
This new bar on the 73rd floor of the InterContinental Hotel Los Angeles Downtown is the tallest open-air bar in the Western Hemisphere. The pretty rooftop terrace boasts 360-degree city views and a delicious drinks menu to boot.
Order a cocktail and some Tableside S’mores, and watch the sun as it sets over L.A. It’s a must-do summer experience. Note that there’s a $10 entrance fee for non-hotel guests that rises to $20 on Friday and Saturday after 8pm.
5. Cycle along Venice Beach
Be sure to take full advantage of the Metro Bike Share on Venice Beach. 24-hour access costs just $5, so you’ll have plenty of time to explore the local hotspots: The Boardwalk, Muscle Beach, and the Venice Canals.
6. Feast on tasty food at Grand Central Market
Grand Central Market (GCM) has been a Downtown L.A. staple since 1917 and now has some of the most incredible food and produce in the city. As well as GCM institutions like China Café, Roast To Go, Sarita’s Pupuseria, and Tacos Tumbras A Tomas, there’s always new and exciting food vendors to discover.
Eggslut does legendary breakfast sandwiches and do keep an eye out for the market’s weekly events, which include Oyster Happy Hours.
7. See a concert at the Walt Disney Concert Hall
No, it’s got nothing to do with Disneyland. Walt Disney Concert Hall has become one of the symbols of Los Angeles. One of the world’s most sophisticated concert halls, it is home to the Los Angeles Philharmonic and the Los Angeles Master Chorale.
