Durty Nellys pub was designed and constructed in Ireland by Irish architects, using genuine Irish materials. It was then disassembled, transported to Shafto Lane in the heart of Perth and reassembled. You couldn’t really get a more authentic Irish pub if you tried.

Their roasts are every bit as genuine, with big flavours, perfect gravy and roasties that are super crunchy on the outside and fluffy in the middle.

24th. Earl of Leicester Hotel – Adelaide

This is a unique gastropub in Parkside, Adelaide where they specialise in amazing food, craft beer and great entertainment five nights a week. It’s the sort of place where there is always something happening and a great buzz in the air.

Their roasts are beautifully presented; if you are lucky enough to snag the crispy pork you are in for a real treat. It’s best washed down with a glass of wine from their excellent list.

23rd. P.J.O’Brien’s – Cairns, Queensland

A proper bar menu with pies, huge racks of ribs and a Sunday roast all worth a try. The portions are all super generous and that includes the Yorkshire pudding which is so big you could climb into it and hide.

22nd. The Precinct – Darwin, NT

You’ll find this family and dog friendly venue in a stunning location on the Darwin Waterfront. They do great craft beers, cocktails and even some really good coffee, so there is something for everybody.

Rose & Crown Hotel is one of the oldest pubs in the city and a truly impressive Western Australian landmark. The stately hotel is set on 2.5 acres and has an ideal location amongst the variety of shops and cafés gracing leafy Swan Street in Guildford.

But we’re here for the food… The roast itself is beef and classic in style with wonderful creamy mashed potatoes and some of the best gravy in the country.

19th. The Duck Inn Pub & Kitchen – Sydney, NSW

If the super succulent $26 Sunday Roast isn’t enough to tempt you in, then the $17 Craftbeer Jugs certainly will. The reality is you’ll be trying them both and utterly enjoying every mouthful.

The portions are absolutely massive with huge hunks of beef and giant Yorkshire puddings. You certainly won’t be leaving here hungry!

18th. Balmoral Hotel – Perth, WA

A great sports bar that has a family friendly atmosphere where you can catch all the big games. They also have entertainment and live music five days a week, as well as a heated courtyard so there is always something happening here.

As well as great pizzas and burgers on the menu all week long you absolutely must come in and try the weekend roast. The crackling on the pork is as crispy as you could ever imagine, with wonderfully tender and juicy meat hidden underneath.

17th. Alfred Hotel, Sydney, NSW

The Alfred Hotel is an unassuming art-deco pub nestled away from the hustle and bustle of King Street and Parramatta Road. They are known for their great selection of craft beers, superb food and being a great place to watch sport.

The food is super wholesome, with a major emphasis on sourcing only the very best ingredients. The roast chicken comes with a wonderful rich gravy that brings the whole dish together perfectly. Delicious.

16th. Fox & Hounds – Mount Tamborine, QLD

Fox & Hounds feels like stepping into an English pub, but it is located in the heart of the Aussie countryside.

The Inn was built in true English style with materials sourced from the Sussex Arms Pub in Tunbridge and has a fine collection of English memorabilia and antiques on the interior.
