If you’re in Fort Worth and don’t feel like fighting the traffic to get to Dallas, check out Deep Ellum Brewing’s Funkytown Fermatorium. It’s just as good, and they serve wood-fired pizzas too.
Sumptuous craft beer flows from the 42 different taps available to choose from at Craft and Growler, easily one of the best craft beer bars in Dallas. While their focus is on Texas and Dallas-area brews, they also excel at showcasing regional and national brand microbrews. As the name suggests, they offer you the chance to fill up a growler and take your beers to-go in order to enjoy at home with friends or family. But, the ambiance is so laid back here that we suggest sipping on it at the bar.
It’s the delicious pairing of local food and craft beer that creates such a delightful experience at LUCK literally any time you visit. Their special touch is that they only serve beers brewed within a 75-mile radius, so it’s one of the best places to visit if you’re new to Dallas and looking to sample local fare. You can sip on nearly 50 specialty beers, ranging from Imperial IPAs to a special whiskey barrel-aged pumpkin pie ale.
The Craft Beer Cellar in Dallas is a beer store at heart. Pull up a chair to the bar, however, and stay for a while in order to sample the impressive variety of craft beers they serve. You’ll notice a focus on local independent breweries but they also sell labels from other small breweries in places such as Missouri and Louisiana. Mix and match bottles to create your own six-pack to take home. Or, sip on 5 oz. samplers at the bar until you find something you love.
If you’re from out of town then visiting The Ginger Man is a great way to dive head-first into the Dallas craft beer scene. Pub grub perfectly complements the beer garden aesthetic, with the interior of this chain of craft beer bars covered in wood decor. Live music wafts out of the backyard beer garden area, which is the perfect place to sit down and enjoy one of the close to 50 beers on tap. Local beers include a dark pecan porter, whereas international brews showcase creamy chocolate stouts from the UK and even Belgian beer.
Strangeways feels like a cosy neighbourhood bar more than a stuffy, pretentious craft beer bar. And, that’s quite impressive given that they’re home to at least 40 different delicious craft beers on tap. On top of serving quite the variety of craft beers, you’ll also find that the staff is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about their job. So, if you’re not sure what to try first, just ask and they’ll be happy to give you suggestions based off your flavour preferences.
There’s a lot going on at Civil Pour. They’re Dallas’ first specialty coffee shop, craft beer bar, growler filling station, and panini sandwich shop. Simply put, you’ll find everything you need to refuel here. Pair any one of their tasty craft beers with a warm panini. Then, top it all off with specialty coffee, which guests rate just as delicious as the beer on tap. The only complaint here is perhaps having too many quality craft beers to choose from first. But, we’ll let you decide if that’s a real problem or not.
