The Edisto Memorial Garden boasts about 4,000 world-class rose plants from at least 75 species, many of which have won several national and international awards. Started in the 1920s with some azaleas on 5 acres, this garden has now grown to occupy over 150 acres of land. It has over 50 beds of roses, showcasing a wide range of rose species from miniatures to grandiflora to climbers.

Lose yourself in space for a few moments

The IP Stanback Museum is found within the campus of South Carolina State University and features a fifty-foot planetarium dome. Their Minolta IIB Planetarium Projector is a state-of-the-art equipment that puts on such a realistic show that it is indeed possible to lose yourself in space for a few moments. The planetarium is especially popular among college students, but is open to the public too. And the building is handicap accessible.
