The best time to visit Anaheim is from March-May or from September-October because that is when the weather is comfortably warm. While summer months beckon warm sunshine, it is peak tourist season so we recommend going in fall instead as schools would be back in session. This would also be a great time to score deals for a Disneyland visit.

Get in touch with your inner child at Disneyland Resort

Known as the ‘happiest place on earth’, Disneyland Resort is an entertainment paradise with 8 themed parks, the most famous of which is Tomorrowland which features classic attractions like Space Mountain. You can also Star Wars Galaxy Edge and pilot the Millenium Falcon and build your own lightsaber. On the streets, you’ll bump into iconic superhero characters, Disney princesses, and Pixar pals. It’s no surprise this is one of the most visited theme parks in the world.

Catch a baseball game at Angel Stadium

If you are in Anaheim during baseball season, you could catch a professional baseball game at Angel Stadium. The Major League Baseball team - The Anaheim Angels -  plays home games at this stadium. It’s truly an unforgettable experience witnessing the tension and excitement in the arena during an MLB game. Tickets are affordable and you can enjoy a hot dog and a cold beer while rooting for the home team.

Picnic at Yorba Regional Park

Escape the city’s bustling crowds by driving down to Yorba National Park, which spans 140 acres along the Santa Ana River. The pretty landscape consists of winding bike paths looping around a series of four lakes inhabited by ducks. There are over 400 picnic tables which are popular with families on weekends to celebrate a meal together.

Eating Out in Anaheim

Okayama Kobo is a Japanese bakery in downtown Anaheim that serves the most melt-in-your-mouth pastries and desserts. Their spicy curry pan (panko fried and filled with curry) and strawberry milk cream croissant are drool-worthy. Thuyen Vien is a casual Vietnamese vegetarian restaurant. We recommend their spicy lemongrass-filled bun bo hue. At Koftegi, a Turkish eatery, don’t miss their kofte (seasoned ground beef patties) and pide (Turkish bread boats). End the evening with a nightcap at The Blind Rabbit with one of their specialty cocktails.

Airports

The city is equidistant from John Wayne Santa Ana Airport (SNA) and Long Beach Airport (LGB). You can also drive down from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).

Getting around Anaheim

Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center (ARTIC) and the Anaheim Canyon Metrolink station are two major regional train stations. The Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) provides bus service with local and country-wide routes and Anaheim Resort Transit (ART) provides local shuttle service near the Disneyland Park resort area.

Although California has a fairly decent public transit system, particularly compared to the rest of the United States, there’s nothing quite like the freedom and flexibility of having your own vehicle.
