NOTE Book a hire car at Faro Airport every year, and every year when I book it appears that it is always a different company that has the best/cheapest deal—so loyalty to a company does not come into the equation.

Greeted at Faro airport with the Drive on Holidays shuttle bus waiting. (always a bonus). The bus had a courtesy step, a Godsend for my wife. The journey was less than five minutes and the staff were waiting to welcome us to go through the pleasant process of completing the pick up of an almost new Peugeot 308, a surprise upgrade from the VW Polo we were expecting. Sat Nav + Cruise Control + Free Additional Driver made me feel like I was Dick Turpin. The car was spotless, faultless and oh so economical. Drop off was similarly friendly and professional with the shuttle bus again there ready and waiting to be dropped off back at the airport. There are very few brilliant Car Hire companies, and far too many overly keen to find any excuse to charge an excess. Drive on Holidays is one of the best. Would not hesitate to recommend. They hoped for a 9 out of 10. They were being modest! 10/10 ❤️

Car was fine, people were friendly and helpful. Only issue was the large deposit on your credit card for the duration of the rental + 14 days before getting this returned. Be careful on the state of the car rental and be sure to take pictures of the car in before and after condition.

Collected the car in the evening. It was already scratched and scraped - not good condition. Returned the car in the daytime, at end of rental, and were charged for damage we did not do.

Arrived at stated location P4 Faro airport at time stated2.00pm. No minibus pickup waited the obligatory 15min all other companies back and forth but no Surprise. For the next hour we phoned 8 times and different numbers all putting me through to a prerecorded system ultimately to the actual pickup garage but again nobody answered. Eventually minibus arrived and not a word of apology or concern this was replicated by the desk clerk who’s only comment was the phone system is the responsibility of head office. Car was very poor Opal Corsa had over 24 recorded pieces of damage 68000 km exhaust blowing out slightly. It was old and very poor quality. Will not rush to use company again

Generally good but would be concerned how they would cope during very busy times; seem to be small, limited staff. Staff member had to go off site ( from P4 ) to fetch our car on arrival and we had to wait for staff to arrive when we dropped our car off. We have used them before without such issues.

Booking this thro Enjoy Travel I couldn’t believe how little I paid. I was I initially disappointed that I had to use their shuttle service but this turned out to be no hassle. The staff were very friendly and for some reason I appear to have received an upgrade on my original hire. I was pleased that the excess deposit was only blocked on my credit card as other providers always took the payment and with exchange rates and bank charges always left me out of pocket. The return process was straight forward as everything apart from the visual check was computerised and only took a few minutes. The block on my credit card was advised to take 3 days but was removed the same day, which had never happened before. I will definitely consider using this company again in the future

Great service car was excellent. A bit of a wait at airport. Needed to phone and told minibus was on its way. Would recommend you phone when you reach the meeting point. The company garage is a fair distance from airport. Would drop a pin on phone when you get there to help navigate back on returning car. No issues with car admin and staff very friendly. Reasonably priced so worth the slight distance from airport

I have used Masterkings about a dozen times, I have not yet had a poor experience. This time I collected an Opel Corsa from Faro in excellent condition, with lots of extras at very little cost. The Masterkings representative was great and on returning they even let me off the €30 extra for early morning return. I have no reason not to recommend them and I will use them again.

We use goldcar regularly and generally very happy but this time something happened that has unnerved me. A day before returning the car I received an email confirming my car had been returned the previous day with chargeable damage. My contract number, my car registration number, but a photo of a different colour car. Several emails and a phone call later plus a face to face conversation when I took the car back I am not liable for any damage to any car and haven’t been charged. But I can’t have the electronic confirmation that I usually receive to confirm my car was satisfactorily returned as so far as their system is concerned it all happened 2 days earlier and there was damage. So really not a great conclusion to what had been a perfectly acceptable hire arrangement. I am left checking my credit card regularly to see if a charge has popped up that has nothing to do with me. I booked through a broker, Enjoy Travel, and whilst I reported everything to them at the time they have been utterly useless.
