Sesto is the place where many visitors have come, and just thought, "Wow". It may not be as popular as other cities in Italy, but don’t let that fool you. The students bring a young, colourful and youthful vibe to the City, making it the perfect place to re-energise your soul. It's a small town with a rich history. Galleria Campari

It was 1860 when Gaspare Campari and his son, invented an Italian alcoholic liqueur, from the infusion of herbs and fruit in alcohol and water. It's bitter taste, and passionate red colour, became a huge hit amongst the public and still lives strong today. They named the ruby red liquid 'Campari' after themselves, and the Galleria isn't just a place to sip on delicious cocktails and observe fascinating mixtures of different concoctions put together by the mixologists, but to also be educated on the history of Campari. You'll discover how Galleria Campari has a deep relationship between Campari and the world of cinema, an art explored since the 60's and 70's with the carousels and television commercials of famous directors who have collaborated with the brand. The exhibition will teach you about the world of mixing, historical bottles and glasses, vintage merchandising and design objects. Campari has a history as deep and rich as the liquid itself, and the guided tours will take you on this journey. Check out their website to book one of their tours and upcoming events/exhibitions.

Duomo di Milano (Milan Cathedral)

This stunning piece of architecture is a half an hour drive from Sesto to Milan and worth the visit. The Duomo is the fifth largest Christian church in the world, and has the most statues. What's fascinating is that you are able to set your watch by its sundial! It took thousands of workers, a new canal system and over six centuries to complete, as the process was very irregular due to lack of funds and ideas. Despite taking over 600 years to complete, many would argue it was worth the wait and perseverance, as when you look up at this mammoth building, you cannot help but be blown away by its presence, design and roof covered with spires, gargoyles and marble statues. The cathedral's design is incredibly unique, and its construction paved the way for the introduction of High Gothic into mainland Italy from across the Alps and northern Europe.

Navigli District

Constructed hundreds of years ago, with input from none other than da Vinci himself, Milan’s canal system granted the city more access to the outside world due to its cleverly designed and navigable interconnected system. Today, the Naviglio Grande and Naviglio Pavese are some of the only canals still visible. You'll enjoy exploring the area, as surrounding the canals are bars, restaurants and cafés where you can take a break and grab some refreshments. Best to stay there till evening, as during weekend nights, this strip is buzzing with activity!
