Lamezia Terme is a city in the Italian region of Calabria. It's definitely worth your time to check out the city's many famous landmarks, such as the Pontile di Lamezia and the Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Carmelo. Lamezia Terme is also famous for its landscapes of sand dunes and rocky outcrops; hills and plains; fresh sea air scented with orange and rosemary, magnificent churches and museums; and the ruins of historic mediaeval castles and forts, which have all made Lamezia Terme famous. In addition to its historical and natural attractions, Lamezia is renowned for its ancient thermal baths of Caronte, a state-of-the-art facility where visitors can relax with a soak, an inhalation, or a beauty treatment. The therapeutic effects are a result of the 39-degree water temperature and high concentrations of sulphur, calcium, and potassium that flow from the Caronte springs. Guide of Brescia

Geography

A city in the province of Catanzaro in the southern Italian region of Calabria, Lamezia Terme is known for its thermal springs. Lamezia sits on the edge of the Piana di Sant'Eufemia, or coastal plain, an area that was once heavily marshy but was eventually dried out and is now used as a coastal city.

Climate in Brescia

Lamezia Terme experiences hot and humid summers that are largely free of rain and cloud cover, and long, cold, wet winters that are only occasionally overcast. The average annual temperature ranges from 5 to 29 degrees Celsius, rarely falling below 0 degrees or rising above 31 degrees. The warmest temperatures in Lamezia Terme are experienced between the months of late June and late August.

Culture

Lamezia Terme was originally named Lametos, after the Lametos River (now the Amato). Lamezia Terme is the name given to the city as a whole after the municipalities of Nicastro, Sambiase, and Santa Eufemia Lamezia were merged in 1968 per administrative decree.

Things To Do in Brescia

Visit the Museo Archeologico Lamentino

The Museo Archeologico Lamentino may not appear impressive from the outside, but the exhibits are well laid out and provide a chronological record of human habitation in the region. It's not a large museum, but it's packed with historical and archaeological information about the area. The Prehistoric Section is the largest of the three sections, displaying stone tools and hunting gear, vessel fragments, and bone remains. The Classical Section houses documents from the area's early Greek colonization, Magna Graecia coins, and materials from the Hellenistic and Roman periods. The Medieval Section displays religious artefacts ranging from the Byzantine period to the 18th century.

See the Cascata Della Tiglia

As you drive from Platania to Mercuri, you will notice a signboard in the middle of the forest. Panetti, a nearly abandoned village, is a 20-minute walk through unspoiled nature. This village can also be reached by car. Follow the signs from the village's public fountain down a steep path until you reach the last of a series of waterfalls cascading down Mount Reventino's mountains. If the time of day is right, the falls' 30-meter drop creates a spray that captures the rainbow. The other falls are difficult to access due to prickly shrubs and stinging plants.

Admire the renovated Nicastro Cathedral

The current Nicastro Cathedral was built in 1640 on the site of a Byzantine-era church that was destroyed by the Saracens and rebuilt by the Normans in 1094 but collapsed during an earthquake on March 7, 1638. The façade was rebuilt in a Neoclassical style in 1925, after it had lost its architectural beauty. The façade features busts of the titular saints as well as Popes Marcello II and Innocent IX. The maiolica-covered cupola, which was built in 1935, will captivate you. The current staircase was built in the mid-twentieth century. The choir stalls are made of wood and date from the 18th century.

Eating Out in Brescia

Lamezia Terme has a variety of restaurants to suit all budgets. Here are some of our favourites for a memorable dining experience. The RIVA Restaurant and Lounge Bar will undoubtedly be at the top of the list of reasonably priced restaurants serving Mediterranean cuisine. They are especially known for their incredible seafood dishes. It’s also a great place to go for a cocktail with friends. Their Riva Margarita is simply unrivalled, with a unique twist. Slove Street Food is a great place to go if you want high-quality fast food at a reasonable price. They prepare the food in front of you, including cutting the meat and preparing the fillings. You must visit Il Borghetto Hotel Ristorante for delectable seafood lunches prepared from the day's catch and a great selection of wines. Traditional Italian, Mediterranean, and Tuscan cuisines are served.

Transport

Airport

Lamezia Terme has its own international airport, which is about 12 kilometres from the city centre. For transportation between the airport and the city, shuttle buses, car hires, and taxis are available. The train station is approximately 2 kilometres from the airport.

Getting Around Brescia

Since none of your destinations are particularly far apart, walking is your best bet. There are, of course, buses and taxis available for travel within and around the city. Motorcycles can also be hired with a local guide, which is especially useful for tourists. However, many people, particularly those travelling in groups, prefer to hire a vehicle because it is the most convenient way to get around the city. One of the most convenient aspects of a car hire is the ability to do a "one-way" car hir, which means you can pick it up in one city and drop it off in another before catching your flight out. This is especially convenient because it saves you the hassle of having to drive it back to your origin city. This is a particularly useful option if you're on a long road trip. Car hire is particularly popular with business travellers (who are frequently on a tight schedule), honeymooning couples, families with children, and those travelling in large groups. Whatever your reasons, Enjoy Travel has you covered!
