No trip to Symi would be complete without properly exploring the main town. Symi's main town is split into two distinct areas. The first is the Gialos harbour, where you can see pastel-colored Venetian mansions arranged in a steep, vertical style. The second part is Chorio, the older part of town located up 450 steps (or accessible via a five-minute bus that leaves every hour, or by donkey). At the top of the steps, there are stunning views of the bay that are unmatched anywhere else in the area.
Visit the harbour
One of the most popular tourist attractions in Symi is the Gialos harbour. This area is known for its colourful Venetian mansions, which are arranged in a steep, vertical style.
