Geography

The Ionian Islands' smallest island group, Paxi, is sometimes known as Paxoi, Antipaxoi, or Antipaxos. Paxos and Antipaxos are the two biggest islands. Gaios is the capital of the municipality of Paxi and the major town on the island.

Many 'blue caverns' may be found on the west coast, where high white chalky cliffs have been worn by the water and are accessible by boat from the town of Gaios.

Levrechio, the bigger neighbouring beach, is a little more crowded, but it's still a peaceful place to walk along the shore as you admire the waves. This is a fairly isolated beach so make sure to pack snacks and water. However, in case you forget, there is a single taverna that draws in visitors with its delectable seafood offerings.

Airport

The Island of Corfu has the closest airport - Corfu International Airport (CFU) Ioannis Kapodistrias - to Paxi. Corfu's airport gets flights from all over the world, including Athens, Thessaloniki, and other Greek islands. From Corfu, you can take a ferry to Paxos' capital, Gaios. There is also the option of taking a private boat to Paxos.

Getting around Paxi

The islands of Paxi are accessible by ferry from the mainland Greek port of Igoumenitsa, hydrofoils, and ferry boats from Corfu, as well as from Bari and Brindisi in Italy.
