Climb to the Acropolis

Therefore, the acropolis of Athens has a temple built for the Goddess Athena. On Thessaloniki's acropolis, the Greeks had built these incredible 4 kilometre walls that surrounded the city during the middle ages up until the late 19th century. These walls are also known as 'The Walls of Thessaloniki'. As you can imagine, standing at the highest point of the city is going to provide you with stunning views of the entire City!

This is the second most famous landmark in Thessaloniki after the acropolis. It is located near the city centre, and this iconic monument is a must for any first-time visitor! Originally built in the 15th century as a prison, and today serves as major attraction for tourists to learn about the history of the city as well as soak in the spectacular views. You'll be given an audio guide at the entrance before you begin your ascent, which you’ll need for the exhibitions on each floor, as they do not have English translations.
