The city of Roskilde is located in Region Sjælland on the island of Zealand in east Denmark. It is 30km west of Copenhagen.

Admire Roskilde Cathedral
Roskilde Domkirke is known as The Westminster Abbey of Denmark. This UNESCO World Heritage Site with its two tall spires is the burial place of the Danish Royal Family. Thirty-three Kings and many Queens have been laid to rest here. Be sure to view the ornate alabaster tomb of Queen Margrethe who united the threes Crowns of Norway, Sweden and Denmark.
Visit the Vikings
In the Viking Ship Museum, you can see partially reconstructed Viking ships and dress up as a Viking and have your photo taken in a ship. You can then have a go at some traditional Viking games and take a workshop where you can try your hand at woodworking, weaving and rope making. If that all sounds too much like hard work, you can just head to the courtyard and watch the boatbuilders in action.
