Immerse yourself in history
The Bangsbo Fort Bunkermuseum is a historic fort consisting of fortifications built by the German army during the Second World War. In total there are 80 concrete structures. The Royal Danish Navy own and use a small part of the fortress, but the remaining area is now a museum and you can explore some of these fascinating structures and learn all about its history. There are some lovely views from the fort of Frederikshavn and the Kattegat Strait. When the weather is good, you can see out to Skagen, Denmark’s northernmost town.

Palmestranden, or palm beach, is a city beach in Frederikshavn and the only beach in Denmark where you can see real palm trees.
