What to Expect From an Airport Lounge in Geneva?
Geneva Airport serves as the primary airport hub for Geneva, Switzerland’s second-largest city. Located just 4km outside of the city centre, and on the Swiss-French border, this airport is easily accessible to passengers on both sides of the border. It processes around 15 million passengers per year, operating many flights to European holiday destinations. However, Geneva Airport also operates long-haul flights, to destinations including the USA, China, Africa and the Middle East.
Within Geneva Airport, there are four distinct lounges where you can kick back and start your holiday early – we will discuss them in this article.
Horizon Lounge
Lounge Features
The Horizon Lounge, operated by Swissport, is open to guests from all airlines, regardless of their ticket status or which airline they are flying with. The lounge offers complimentary food and drink all day, changing the selection available depending on the time of day, and also has newspapers, magazines, live flight information screens and business facilities.
The Horizon Lounge is located in Terminal One and is open from 06:00 – 20:30 daily.
Food and Beverage Offerings
The food is generally European in style, with plenty to choose from. Cereals, cheeses, breads, and pastries are offered in the morning, while sandwiches, cakes, and muffins are added to the mix from the afternoon onwards. Peanuts are available all day if you want something to nibble on while waiting for your flight.
Soft drinks and alcoholic drinks are available, free of charge, although guests who would like that extra touch of luxury, can pay extra for a 75cl bottle of champagne to really kick off their holiday in style!
Work and Relaxation Zones
For passengers who wish to get some work done while waiting for their flight, they can do so at Horizon Lounge. While there is not a separate business area, there are desks with power sockets, ideal for plugging in your laptop and getting your head down into some work.
For those who are there for the pre-flight relaxation experience, there are a range of comfortable armchairs and sofas for passengers to use, as well as a range of magazines and newspapers to read. It’s also a good opportunity to use the free WiFi in the lounge in order to catch up on social media or download any TV shows, films, audiobooks and more while waiting for your next flight.

Reservation Options
Passengers can use the lounge for a maximum of 3 hours before the flight departure time. Children under 2 years old are admitted free of charge. Guests must adhere to a dress code, which includes no sportswear, baseball caps, or shirts with offensive slogans.
Walk-In Availability
When there is space available inside, the Horizon Lounge accepts walk-in guests who wish to pay at the door. However, it is worth booking in advance, because pre-booked guests always have priority.

Crystal Lounge
Lounge Features
The Crystal Lounge is also open to passengers from all airlines, regardless if they are flying economy, business or first-class. The lounge is also located in Terminal One and offers complimentary food, drink, and WiFi, as well as working zones and relaxation zones. The Crystal Lounge is open daily from 07:00 – 18:00.
Food and Beverage Offerings
Food and drink offerings are generally similar to those of the Horizon Lounge. Rather than focusing on full meals which many of the cafes, restaurants and fast food joints offer within the main airport terminal, the Crystal Lounge offers more snack-style food. Items include cereals, sandwiches, cheeses, deli meats, pastries and fresh fruit.
Alcoholic and soft drinks are both available, free of charge.
Work and Relaxation Zones
There is a dedicated working space within the Crystal Lounge, and this is ideal for those wanting to do some co-working. Many of the chairs are situated around a hexagonal desk, all with individual seats and power sockets. This can be used for working, or for collaborating together.
For those who would prefer to relax, there is an array of window chairs that will all overlook the runway, so you can sip on an ice-cold glass of wine while watching the numerous planes take off and land – what a way to start your holiday.

Air France–KLM Lounge
Lounge Features
As the name suggests, this lounge is only open to those passengers flying with either Air France or KLM. It is located in Terminal One. As mentioned earlier, Geneva Airport sits on the Swiss-French border, and this lounge is only open to guests who are departing from the French side of the border. The lounge’s opening hours vary:
- Monday: 14:00 – 20:00
- Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday: 05:45 – 20:00
- Thursday, Friday, Sunday: 05:45 – 14:00
Food and Beverage Offerings
It’s no secret how passionate about their food the French are, and they leave no stone unturned at the Air France–KLM Lounge at Geneva Airport. Expect French classics such as croissants, pain-au-chocolat, and a nod to the Swiss (pain-suisse), and these are served alongside hot buffet-food items such as scrambled eggs, bacon and sausages in the morning, to sandwiches, deli meats and French fries in the afternoons.
Drinks are also complimentary, including alcoholic beverages. While you’re technically in France, it’d be rude not to sample a glass of beautiful French wine, right?
Work and Relaxation Zones
There is a dedicated working area within the Air France–KLM Lounge, which is perfect for those wishing to either check up on some emails or get their head down into some work.
However, it’s not all work and no play in the Air France–KLM Lounge: expect to see an unobstructed view of the runway, shadowed only by the magnificence of the snow-capped Jura Mountains overlooking it in the background – this really is a place you could sit and watch planes take off and land all day, and it’s certainly one of the most scenic airport lounges in Europe.
How to Book
Book in advance with Enjoy Travel to secure the best prices and availability.
Reservation Options
Passengers can use the lounge for a maximum of 3 hours. Children under 2 years old are admitted for free.
Walk-In Availability
Guests can purchase access either at the door to the Air France–KLM Lounge or via an Air France desk or a KLM desk. However, prices are usually more expensive when purchasing on the day compared to buying in advance online, so we would recommend booking through Enjoy Travel rather than ending up spending more on the day.

Marhaba Lounge
The Marhaba Lounge is located in Terminal One at Geneva Airport, and alongside the usual free food, drink and WiFi, the lounge also offers a multi-faith prayer room, and two different purchasing options: the first is for up to 3 hours of access, but guests can also purchase a pass whereby they can stay in the lounge for up to 6 hours for an additional fee. The lounge is open daily from 06:30 – 20:00.
Lounge Features
The Marhaba Lounge offers a quiet, relaxing space away from the hustle and bustle of Terminal One at Geneva Airport. With a focus on the serene, this lounge is perfect for those who wish to relax in a quiet atmosphere pre-flight. In addition, there is also a multi-faith prayer room which can be used by anyone, irrespective of their religion, for some quiet time alone. This room is non-bookable but is free to use and is available on a first-come, first-served basis. There are also male and female showers in the lounge.
Food and Beverage Offerings
Snacks and drinks are also available free of charge, and these range from pastries, cakes and sandwiches to fresh fruit and yoghurts.
Both soft drinks and alcoholic drinks are available free of charge.
Work and Relaxation Zones
There is no dedicated working space within the Marhaba Lounge, but there are plenty of desks with nearby power sockets, so you can plug in your laptop and get on with some work if you wish.
The lounge comes with complimentary fast WiFi, which is ideal for those doing work, but also for those who wish to sit back and relax. This is a great opportunity to catch up with friends and family via social media apps, or perhaps to download some films, TV show episodes or an audiobook if you are getting ready to board a long-haul flight, and want some in-flight entertainment.
