What to Expect From an Airport Lounge in Malaga?
Malaga Airport is located 8km southwest of the city of Malaga, which sits on the Costa del Sol on Spain’s southern coast. It is the fourth-busiest Spanish airport, behind Madrid-Barajas, Barcelona and Palma de Mallorca, and plays a significant role in the Spanish tourism industry, processing over 15 million passengers every year.
There is a dedicated airport lounge here, with many amenities designed to make your travel experience much smoother and much more relaxing. This article will describe the various features of the lounge, and what you can expect to see when you arrive there.
VIP Lounge
Lounge Features
The VIP Lounge is located on the second floor of Terminal T3 at Malaga Airport and offers guests a wonderful overview of the airport. Of course, you must go through security and duty-free first, before entering the lounge. There is also a lift near the lounge for those with reduced mobility issues.
Some of the defining features of the VIP Lounge at Malaga Airport include free WiFi, chairs, tables, comfortable and large sofas, and TV areas. The lounge itself is huge, with an area of 2,600m², which is a bonus because it never feels busy – regardless of how many guests are using it at any given time.
The lounge is open daily from 05:30 – 22:30, although sometimes these hours vary in the peak summer months, and the lounge is likely to be open for longer.
Food and Beverage Offerings
Drinks and snacks are available free of charge within the airport lounge, and these include favourites such as cereals, doughnuts, pastries, olives, crisps, biscuits, salads, sandwiches and more. At main mealtimes, hot food is served, and this includes Spanish favourites such as paella and tapas.
Drinks – both soft and alcoholic – are available free of charge.
Work and Relaxation Zones
There is a dedicated working space within the lounge, which comes in the form of a meeting room. For those guests who wish to get some work done while they are in the airport lounge, we suggest utilising this area, which also comes complete with free WiFi and plugs so that you can charge any of your electronic devices, should you need to.
For guests looking for a more relaxing experience, we suggest checking out the large sofas, and for those who are perhaps jet-lagged or just fancy a quick snooze, there are dedicated sleeping areas within the VIP Lounge at Malaga Airport. However, make sure that you set an alarm because there are no loudspeakers within the lounge, meaning that you will not hear any flight announcements.
