What to Expect From an Airport Lounge in Tokyo Narita?

Tokyo Narita Airport, sometimes referred to as just Narita Airport, is one of two international airports that serve Tokyo, the capital city of Japan. By international passenger traffic and international cargo, Narita is the busiest airport in Japan – processing a staggering 33 million passengers and over two million tons of cargo every year.

In such a large airport, it is little surprise that there are plenty of places for you to sit back and relax, in any of the airport’s six lounges.

Narita Premier Lounge

Lounge Features

The Narita Premier Lounge, located in Terminal One, is the only shared airline lounge in Tokyo Narita International Airport – one lounge is specifically for Korean Air passengers, another for those on United Airlines, and the other three are for passengers on ANA flights – so if you’re not flying with either of the aforementioned airlines, the Narita Premier Lounge is your best choice.

However, it is worth noting that only those passengers flying in business class or first class are eligible for entry to the Narita Premier Lounge. The lounge is open from 07:30 – 21:00 daily.

Food and Beverage Offerings

Guests using the Narita Premier Lounge can expect an array of Japanese and Western snacks and drinks. The food is set out in a buffet style, ranging from Japanese favourites such as sushi and gyoza to more Western-themed foods such as chips, crisps, salads, sandwiches and more. There is also a dedicated noodle bar, for guests who would like to create their own Japanese-style ramen bowl.

Drinks are all complimentary, including alcoholic beverages. Guests can expect to see a heavily Japanese theme with the drink choices, such as sake and Asahi, while there is lots of green tea on offer, too.

Work and Relaxation Zones

With free WiFi and desk spaces, there are certainly plenty of places within the Narita Premier Lounge that guests can choose to work from.

For a more relaxing experience, the lounge has combined traditional Japanese design with a contemporary spa feel – guests can expect to see real Kashimo cypress trees and Echizen washi paper on the walls, giving off a very historical and traditional Japanese feel, to help those feel immersed in Japanese culture.

Korean Air Lounge

Lounge Features

As its name suggests, the Korean Air Lounge is for exclusive use for guests flying with Korean Air. It is also located inside Terminal One and is open from 07:10 – 19:30 daily. This lounge features complimentary WiFi, snacks, drinks, TVs, newspapers, magazines, and telephones, and for an additional fee, guests can reserve private rooms.

Food and Beverage Offerings

Unsurprisingly, the food choice is largely East Asian in choice, with Korean favourites such as tteokbokki, Korean fried chicken and bulgogi alongside Japanese favourites like gyoza, bao buns and ramen.

Drinks – both soft and alcoholic – are also included in the Korean Air Lounge.

Work and Relaxation Zones

With large, comfortable armchairs to relax in, there’s no shortage of relaxation places in the Korean Air Lounge at Tokyo Narita International Airport.

However, for guests who wish to get some work done, there are lots of power outlets to charge devices from, but the Korean Air Lounge also offers dedicated private rooms, which can be hired for an additional fee.

How to Book

United Club Lounge

Lounge Features

Operated by United Airlines, the United Club Lounge offers United members free access to their lounge at Tokyo Narita International Airport, Terminal One. Alongside snacks and soft drinks, the lounge also has a unique feature – a self-service bar – cheers to that! The lounge is open from 08:45 – 20:45 daily.

Food and Beverage Offerings

The selection of food and drink is a mixture of Japanese and Western. For instance, at breakfast service, fish and rice sit alongside eggs and pancakes, so you can choose whatever you fancy – although perhaps not all of it at once! There is also a large selection of fresh fruit and salads, as well as items like muffins, cakes and other pastries throughout the day.

Coffee and tea are served all day, and there is a self-service bar for alcoholic beverages which offers guests the chance to make their own cocktails if they wish.

Work and Relaxation Zones

While there is not a dedicated working space such as a meeting room or a conference hall, the lounge is large enough for guests to be able to undertake work tasks, such as taking phone calls and sending emails without being disturbed.

ANA Arrival Lounge

Lounge Features

The ANA Arrival Lounge is specifically for guests who are waiting on arrivals from ANA flights – hence its reduced opening hours compared to other lounges: 14:00 – 17:55 daily. However, this does not mean that the offerings are any less when compared to other lounges, as it includes shower facilities as well as dedicated working areas. Guests can also have access to newspapers and magazines, which they can download digitally via the ANA app onto their electronic devices.

Food and Beverage Offerings

There is no food or drink available at the lounge. Guests are not permitted to bring in their own alcohol but can bring in their own food and soft drinks, so long as they have been purchased at Tokyo Narita International Airport.

Work and Relaxation Zones

ANA Lounge

Lounge Features

The ANA Lounge is also available only for guests who are flying with ANA Airlines – however, this is located on the departures side of Terminal One and is much larger than the ANA Arrivals Lounge. Amenities such as buffet dining, free drinks, complimentary WiFi, relaxation zones and more are all a part of this airport lounge, which makes it one of Narita International’s most popular lounges. This lounge is open from 13:00 – 19:10 every day.

Food and Beverage Offerings

There is a huge selection of food available in the lounge, from traditional Japanese offerings to more Westernised dishes. Guests can choose from ramen, udon noodles, rice balls, curries and more, up to western favourites such as French fries, fried chicken, scrambled eggs and pork sausages.

In addition, drinks are complimentary, and this includes alcoholic beverages as well as soft drinks.

Work and Relaxation Zones

Within the ANA Lounge, there is a dedicated working space, where passengers who would like to get some work done can simply load up their laptop, connect to the free WiFi, and plug in their device so that it does not run out of charge, and work away. There is even a printer which is free to use.

Equally, the relaxation zone is just as good and has some unique features. For instance, there are some massage chairs where guests can experience a pre-flight massage, while there are also shower rooms with the aforementioned toiletries included.

However, the most unique feature of the relaxation zone in the ANA Lounge at Tokyo Narita International Airport is the “ANA Original Aroma”, which is wafted throughout the lounge via air vents. This aroma is comprised of 12 natural Japanese scents, including Yoshino Japanese cedar, Japanese umbrella-pine and more, for the ultimate relaxation experience.

Free top-class food, drinks, WiFi, relaxation zones and working facilities are all part and package of this airport lounge. The lounge is open from 07:00 daily and closes an hour before the last scheduled ANA flight.

Food and Beverage Offerings

The food menu is similar to the ANA Lounge but with a larger selection. There is a dedicated noodle bar, where guests can make their own ramen bowls, choosing from soba, udon or ramen noodles. Furthermore, the hot and cold food options combine both Japanese favourites as well as Western favourites – ranging from gazpacho soup to hamburgers.

Drinks – both alcoholic and soft – are complimentary.

From the relaxation perspective, there are both massage chairs and shower rooms to help relax and refresh you before your flight. The shower rooms come with complimentary toiletries, and there is also the luxury of the ANA original aroma being sprayed like mist through the air vents, like in the ANA Lounge.
